DR. PHARMANEInteractive Sculpture | 12 Raspberry Pi, Adobe Fresco, PLA Filament
2024My most abmitious project yet. Dr. Pharmane started out as a character from Text Escape 2, but I realized that he was much too interesting of a character to be a side character in a game. Using a 3D pen, a raspberry Pi, and a few screens I created a physical interactive sculplture of the doctor. When people poke him in the eye he makes sure to let you know that you’re in the wrong. When you touch his eyes he lets you know hes not happy

Here im testing out the angle of the screensStarting to build the chasisTop part of the chasis is finished...but its not lined up with the baseplateI said screw it and detached the supports from the baseplateIn hindsight this was a good call since it meant I had extra pieces for the side pannelsI repurposed the entire base plate for other parts of Dr. PharmaneI fixed the supports so that they sit flush ontop of a flat surfaceIt took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to house the brain The raw PLA made for very convincing wiring All finishedStruggling with the 3D Pen during install

Over the course of the day that blob got more and more detailed until Heap was born! MINIATURE TERRAINXPS Foam, Flocking, Lichen Blood, Sweat, and tears.

Sometimes getting into a new hobby can chain into many other new hobbies. My brother David and I got into playing Star Wars Legion, a wargame where you pit two factions from the Star Wars universe together. After playing using mugs and VHS tapes for terrain, we decided to try making real terrain pieces. Making mini terrain is a good stress reliever after getting my army destroyed.
